The Story Behind These Courses
Not just validating
There is a lot of conflicting parenting advice out there. Many parenting voices on social media have promoted an approach called gentle parenting that emphasizes heavy validation. While empathy plays an important rule, this advice overlooks the 40+ years of research demonstrating that many kids also need additional proven parenting strategies to learn, grow, and develop resilience.
Many parents who have come to me for help had already tried some of the strategies presented in my courses. But they weren’t seeing results. The problem was not the strategies themselves. It was the missing details. In my courses, I highlight the crucial nuances that make all the difference in a clear, step-by-step format. We don’t need to reinvent parenting. We need to return to what’s been proven to work and apply it correctly, with warmth and consistency.
Need for simplicity
As a working mom who has raised two now adult children, I know how important it is for parents to have tools that are simple, time efficient, and effective. Just as important is using them with warmth and open communication. That’s what you’ll find in these courses.
Cut Through The Noise
After years of teaching evidence-based parenting skills in therapy and groups, I saw how transformative the right guidance can be. I have curated the most effective, research-based parenting strategies that are often more successful for kids with ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, inflexibility, or big feelings than typical parenting tactics. I also address the common concerns that can make parents hesitant to try new approaches so you can feel confident putting these skills into action.
My Experience
Dr. Aviva Bass-Huh
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with children and families. I have worked with over 500 families in both my private practice, which I opened in 2014, and prior to that, at a community mental health center where I worked for 12 years, first as a clinician and later as an administrator. I have delivered and designed numerous trainings for parents, teachers, and therapists, always with the goal of turning research findings into actionable steps. Those experiences taught me how to make learning engaging, practical, and easy to apply, which is exactly what I’ve built into these courses.
I received my Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver and completed an APA-approved internship at Hamilton Health Sciences Centre in Canada.
